The CEC voided the electoral-list registration of the “ALLIANCE” Progressive Centrist Party

On May 25 the Central Electoral Commission received the decision of the board of the “ALLIANCE” Progressive Centrist Party stating that it withdraws from participation in the regular NA elections. The board’s decision was signed by the board members. Authorized representatives of the “ALLIANCE” Progressive Centrist Party also attended the CEC’s May 26 extraordinary session and confirmed that their political force’s permanent governing body had made such a decision.

The CEC voided the registration of the “ALLIANCE” Progressive Centrist Party. Accordingly, there will be no ballot number 13 in the June 7, 2026 regular RA NA elections.

The CEC voided the registration of 7 candidates of “Against Everyone”

At its May 22 extraordinary session, the RA Central Electoral Commission voided the registration of 7 parliamentary candidates. The withdrawal applications were submitted by 7 candidates on the electoral lists of the “AGAINST EVERYONE” DEMOCRATIC PARTY. The withdrawal applications were notarized.

Under the constitutional law “Electoral Code of the Republic of Armenia,” candidates may submit a withdrawal application no later than 10 days before election day, until 18:00 (May 28). This deadline also applies to the withdrawal of parties/alliances running in the elections.

The candidates who withdrew are: Khalatyan Arpi (#15), Ghazaryan Tigran (#39), Ghazaryan Paruyr (#42), Ghazaryan Sona (#47), Grigoryan Lusine (#55), Ghazaryan Naira (#83), Baghdasaryan Gevorg (#87).

[Ed.] The move is planned by the party: in a statement released today, “Against Everyone” notes that its campaign plan was, if successful, to form a 100-day government, carry out the three promised changes, and hold snap elections; if that plan proved impossible, the party announced that rather than serving five years as opposition MPs on the votes of voters who voted against them, they would give up their mandates. Since mass resignation of mandates is a lengthy legal procedure, the party decided to secure it in advance by trimming the list to 25 candidates, so that if needed it can both carry out the planned changes and execute the promised mandate-resignation plan on schedule without delays.
